Arizona Shoot

Photo Shoot,  Maricopa, AZ, Winter 2011, Photographer: Alvin Johnson Photography

I drove about an hour to get to this shoot but it was definitely worth it! The photographer had great ideas and was extremely easy to work with. We did a few shots in his studio then we went to a great location he knew of in the middle of the desert where we got amazing shots near cactus and on the railroad tracks!

First shoot in Arizona

Photo Shoot, Gilbert, AZ, Photographer: Paul Matthew

After getting past the audition at PUSH models to be a promotional model I needed to amp up my portfolio. I did this shoot just to check out this whole modeling thing and after this I was hooked! We shot some pics in his studio and then we went to an old farmhouse area and got some really fun shots outside as well.

First shoot in a LOOONG time!

Photo Shoot, South Beach Miami, FL, August 2010, Photographer: Jim Nichols

This shoot was done with a friend of mine who does photography as a hobby and convinced me to take some pictures for his portfolio. He flew me down to Miami to shoot "just for fun." I ended up having a blast and we got a few great pictures as well! This is where it all begins. These photos were my start!

Keepin' it Real and a few of My Favorite Things! (Unphotoshopped and unprocessed photos)

Ok so we all know that photographers for different projects want to see the "real you." They want to make sure you are who you say you are but most importantly you look like your pictures say you look. I once heard the tail end of some models conversation and one stated: "Oh poor thing, she's a photo shop baby." So this post will just show some photos taken off my Blackberry and I threw in a few items of mine that I LOVE!

The different looks of AmandaKay :)

I can't decide if blondes really have more fun! Because brunettes sure can hold it down!

My hair was being completely uncooperative so I grabbed a bunch of bobby pins and just pinned it to the side.

Shoes, etc., and my baby gurl:

                         Baby Bianca

So there you go. This is me and few things that I love!

Do you want smooth, silky hair without the chemicals?

I know I did!

Hair Model, Keratin Complex Smoothing Systems, Signature Salons, Chandler, AZ, January 2011

I sat before a group of stylists who were becoming certified to use the Keratin Smoothing System. I think I had about 20+ hands on my head by the end of the class but the end result was a smooth, shiny look and so worth it. Class even ran about a half hour late because I have so much hair!! I got my ends trimmed though, a smooth do, and some great products!

I wish I could post the before picture but it's too scary! Just picture A LOT of kinky curls to the point where my hair was barely to my shoulders.... Quite a difference. :)

CHI Hair Show (Shouts to my girl Julie!)

Treasure Island Casino, Minnesota, Spring 2010
Hair Model

My hair was dyed this extremely strong red and let it be known that it's still in my hair in the form of a light brownish, red! No more color for me for awhile but I had such a great time and the stylists were amazing!

Sitting on stage while the stylists taught an "updo" class....
I snagged tons of great hair stuff!

I was prepped the day before with color and then the next day they curled me up in a little staging room to market some irons and then on to the big stage for the updo!

Loved the make up artists work!

Always wiling to help!

*The Finished Product*

It was a successful hair show and I was happy to have been a part of it. It was my first one!!

First things First!

I have begun modeling again after a quick stint when I was younger and I love it! I am having so much fun and meeting so many professional and incredible photographers, body painters and makeup artists. Modeling really lets my creative side shine! I love playing with different make up looks, hair styles and clothes. I am beginning to build my portfolio in the midst of accepting paid shoots as well. Every shoot I learn something new and hopefully am becoming a better model. This blog will chronicle my work thus far, therefore I'll be sharing my portfolio and future events I have booked! Hope you all enjoy! You can contact me at akay_amandakay@yahoo.com if you want to do a shoot or have any questions and feel free to follow and leave comments. I am extremely easy to work with and try to make everything a blast to create an outstanding product. Enjoy!
